Daren Anderson, MD

Daren Anderson, MD

President and Founder

Dr. Daren Anderson is the President and Founder of ConferMED, a national telehealth provider focusing on improving access to specialty care through asynchronous communication with its national network of specialists. Dr. Anderson’s research in telehealth and electronic consultation at the Weitzman Institute formed the basis of a new model for embedding eConsults into safety net primary care practices. This model was the basis for creating ConferMED, a national eConsult provider now engaged in supporting practices in 21 states across the U.S., as well as internationally.

Dr. Anderson began his career as a general internist providing primary care for medically underserved patients in New Britain, Connecticut. He subsequently served as Chief Medical Officer and then Chief Quality Officer for Community Health Center, Inc., a large, multisite health center providing primary care to more than 150,000 patients across Connecticut.

Dr. Anderson obtained his undergraduate degree at Harvard College and his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his residency training in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital and is a board certified general internist.

Maryann is Chief Strategy Officer at ConferMED and joined ConferMED in 2018. She oversees relationship with national and regional clients, develops payer strategies with both private and public insurers, is responsible for top-line revenue growth and creating opportunities for operational/technical innovation. Maryann offers years of experience in the delivery of health care services in a variety of organizations. She started out as a registered nurse working in Bone Marrow Transplantation at Memorial Sloan Kettering Medical Center. Her extensive background includes twelve years at CIGNA HealthCare overseeing the national Quality Management Program, NCQA Accreditation process, building episode of care logic with claims data and the launch of their first population health program, WellAware. In addition, she was a successful consultant for Health & Technology Vector, Inc. and Connecticut AHEC managing complex projects that focused on primary care practice innovation, disease management systems, and health equity solutions. Maryann is an adjunct faculty at Trinity College in Hartford, CT teaching Health Policy and Health Equity.

Chief Commercial Officer

Ági Erickson, is the Chief Commercial Officer at ConferMED, leading the strategic growth and business development.  She works collaboratively with national, regional and local stakeholders to improve access to specialty care. Agi leads a national sales department providing strategic guidance and support to the sales team.

With over 15 years of leadership experience in the health care industry, Agi has been an advocate for using innovation and technology to improve access to scalable, effective, evidence-based telehealth solutions, to improve timely access, efficiency and quality of care in primary care delivery. Her efforts are focused on addressing real primary care challenges in both, rural and urban communities, as well as national public health emergencies.

Ági is the former Director of Project ECHO at the Community Health Center Inc.’s Weitzman Institute. She has overseen the replication and rapid national growth of the Weitzman Institute’s unique Project ECHO since 2012 to over 565 health center practice sites supporting over 1,200 medical, 400 behavioral health providers, and 855 care team members in 48 states. Ági provided leadership and direction for the development and implementation of numerous National Project ECHO Learning Communities.

Ági has a strong quality improvement background. Completed Clinical Microsystems training at the Dartmouth Institute and is a certified systems change coach. She received training in advanced facilitation by Ingrid Bens, an internationally recognized expert in facilitation skills, and completed lean training at Denver Health Lean Academy. She earned her Master’s Degree from Quinnipiac University in Organizational Leadership concentrating in Health Care Management.

Michelle Chapman is Head of Client Strategy for ConferMED. Michelle leads a team of account managers that provide value and development strategy to practices across the nation. Through strategic planning, data analysis of performance, and vision to bring increased access to medicine for patients, her team works closely with clients to make a seamless operation of utilizing the eConsult platform. Prior to leading the client team, Michelle was the Specialty Network Manager for ConferMED. In this position she worked to recruit, hire, manage and credential a Specialist team, of over 150 specialists in over 40 different adult and pediatric specialties, that provides high quality eConsults for the client network. ConferMED specialists are board certified specialists in adult and pediatric fields with board certification in their specialty or subspecialty with in-state licensing when needed.

Michelle Chapman began her career as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Primary Care physicians and Specialists across the New England region. She was a leader amongst her peers for more than 15 years, working to achieve multiple leadership awards providing top quality service and access to medicine for her customers. She went on to expand her Health career by working in contracts for ConnectiCare insurance company and building an IPA for Optum/ProHealth Physicians under United Health Care.

Michelle Chapman obtained her undergraduate degree at Boston University majoring in Biology and minoring in French. She graduated Cum Laude and was a member in multiple Honors Societies including the Alpha Epsilon Delta National Pre-Medical Honors Society, Golden Key National Honors Society, Dean’s List, and was an Academic Scholarship Recipient all four years.

Rachael Dobbs is ConferMED’s Chief Product Officer. As a member of the senior leadership team at ConferMED, Rachael is responsible for initiatives across the product lifecycle from initial discovery and research through development and delivery. She is passionate about entrepreneurial thinking, innovative strategies, and collaboration to improve telehealth services across the country. Rachael obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Houston. She then went on to complete a joint JD/MPH program at the University of Houston Law Center and the University of Texas School of Public Health.

Business Systems Manager

Michael Malchiodi is ConferMED’s Business Systems Manager. As a member of the senior leadership team at ConferMED, Michael is responsible for all technology initiatives and financial remittance. His current focus is on updating and streamlining ConferMED’s technology stack while improving the overall security posture of the company. Michael holds a MS in Computer Information Systems from Marist College and a MS in Finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Medical Director

Dan Wilensky, MD, is a Family Physician who has been with CHC since 2003. He obtained his MD from UVA Medical School in 1992 and completed the UConn Family Medicine Residency in 1995. He provides care to his patients at CHC’s Meriden site. As part of his patient care, Dan has teaching roles with UConn and Yale. Dr. Wilensky, as Appointed Senior Faculty to the Weitzman Institute, serves in several different roles. He is the Chief Preceptor to CHC’s APRN Residency Program and its remotely hosted programs. He is on the faculty of three of MWHS’s Project ECHOs (Complex Care Management, Pain, and Advanced Primary Care). He is a Community Preceptor for the Middlesex Family Medicine Residency.

As Medical Director for ConferMED, Dr. Wilensky is a senior leader and member of the specialty committee. He is called upon whenever clinical issues arise. Dan runs a team of expert primary care doctors who review the quality of the eConsults answered by our Specialists. Dan personally reviews all clinical complaints or concerns. He also is an eConsultant, responding to Complex Primary Care cases from several states.

Outside of work, Dan enjoys yoga, fitness, swimming, spending time with his family, and advocating for a vegan diet, health care as a right not a privilege, and environmental issues.
